In June 2017 we opened the doors to a new newly refurbished school in Qaloda, Tanzania. The school had been in serious disrepair for many years and was largely unsafe for students and teachers to use.
As a result student attendance was dropping and teachers were going elsewhere to work leaving the school understaffed. The school had been let down many times over the years by NGOs promising to help and it never coming to fruition. We visited in early 2016 and decided, with the help of the community to refurbish parts of the school, completely rebuild five classrooms and reconstruct the latrines for 400 the girls and boys.
